A country in the north Pacific Ocean caught between the Philippines and the lesser developed nations of Micronesia or Guam. Best known for diving and its prolific underworld, Palau is also an interesting destination from a cultural point of view. With various influences from all Pacific groups and strong links with Asia and the US time seems to have stopped sometime in the 50s in this sleepy island which is also one of the youngest countries in the world. Don’t miss the chance to swim with millions of harmless jellyfish or kayak around the Rock Islands. Life above the water is equally interesting.
