Part Indian part African, this island off the coast of Africa is an interesting mix of cultures, languages, religions and heritage. Many animal species, like lemurs, can only be found in its boundaries and the landscapes are so varied and unique that Madagascar is hard to place. Drive through baobab lined dirt roads, marvel at red stalactite-looking formations, climb up eroded rock mountains or simply dive into the clearest emptiest islands. This large island is a mostly unknown destination.
