The latest country to implement Shariah Law is also one of the richest and smallest in the world. Located on the island of Borneo and entirely bordered by Malaysia and the sea, Brunei is as small as it is unique. There is no alcohol, no music and no activity after dark but the practically untouched jungle that the Sultan has chosen to preserve will be enough to keep you busy. Explore treetop walkways high above the jungle canopy or visit the Sultan’s Palace. Once the richest man in the world, this abode of peace is his playground and the royal palace, one of the largest private residences in the world, is said to have the most important collection of luxury cars. Excesses and contrast abound in Brunei.
